ingredient
- 2 clementines, peeled and broken into segments
- 1 banana, sliced
- 1 cup (250 mL) seedless red grapes
- 1 pear, cut into chunks
- 12 oz. (350 g) dark chocolate, chopped up*
- 1 cup (250 mL) whipping cream*
- 1 tsp. (5 mL) almond essence.
Preparation
- On a platter, arrange fruit artistically. Cover and set aside.
- In a small saucepan, heat cream until tiny bubbles begin to form. Remove from heat and add chopped chocolate. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Stir in almond essence.
- Pour chocolate into a fondue pot. Set the pot on its stand over the burner and set out the fruit.
Cook commentary
Suggestion: Replace almond essence with almond or orange liqueur (like Amaretto or Grand Marnier) or strong coffee to vary the flavour.
