Ingredients
- 24 oysters in their shells
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup (250 mL) whipping cream 35%
- To taste salt and freshly ground pepper
- ¼ lb (115 g ) sliced bacon*, finely chopped
- ¼ cup (60 mL) dry breadcrumbs*
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) butter
preparation
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Shuck oysters, placing them in a bowl. Refrigerate. Place bottom shells on a baking sheet. Heat shells in oven for about 5 minutes, remove from oven and immediately place an oyster in each shell; set aside.
- In a bowl, combine Worcestershire sauce and cream.
- Spoon sauce over oysters on the shell, dividing evenly. Salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle on bacon, breadcrumbs and green onion.
- Top with a little butter. Bake at 200°C (400°F) until bacon is crisp and oysters heated through, about 4 to 5 minutes
