Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) butter* or margarine*
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) all-purpose flour*
- 2 cups (500 mL) 2% milk
- To taste salt and pepper
- 1/4 tsp. (1 mL) Irresistible powdered ginger*
- 4 eggs*, hard-cooked chopped
- 1 cup (250 mL) fresh small shrimp
- 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) fresh chopped parsley
- Wheat bran to taste
preparation
- Melt butter or margarine; add flour and cook over medium heat until foamy. Gradually stir in the milk. Cook, stirring constantly, until thick and creamy; season with salt, pepper and ginger.
- Add chopped eggs, shrimp and parsley. Pour into an oven dish. Sprinkle with wheat bran. Bake at 350°F / 180°C, 15 minutes or until bubbly. Serve on hot toast or with light rice and green salad

Serves: 4
Suggestion: Choose the size of shrimp according to use: The biggest : shrimp cocktail, brochettes, butterfly shrimp, sautéed, grilled, baked. Medium: Curry, tempura, breaded, stuffed, bouillabaisse. Small and tiny: Salad, bisque, au gratin, cream sauce, crêpes, cannelloni.
