Ingredients
- 60 mL (1/4 cup) flour
- 750 g (1 1/2 lb) stewing veal cubes
- 45 mL (3 tablespoons) vegetable oil
- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1/2 green bell pepper, cubed
- 1/2 red bell pepper, cubed
- 1 can (398 mL/14 oz) pineapple chunks, with juice
- 125 mL (1/2 cup) orange juice
- 60 mL (1/4 cup) brown sugar, firmly packed
- 125 mL (1/2 cup) sweet and sour dipping and glazing sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 60 mL (1/4 cup) fresh parsley, chopped
Preparation
- Coat the cubes of veal with flour and shake off the excess. Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the veal, garlic and bell peppers to the pan.
- Cook, stirring often, for 5 minutes or until the meat is thoroughly browned on all sides. Cook the veal cubes in 2 lots if necessary. Add the pineapple and juice, along with the orange juice and brown sugar.
- Turn the heat down to low, cover and cook for 30 minutes. Add the sweet and sour dipping and glazing sauce, salt, pepper, and fresh parsley. Cook for another 5 minutes. Serve with white rice and snow peas
