Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 425 ml
- 1 tsp baking soda 5 ml
- ½ tsp each ground cinnamon and salt 2 ml
- 1 ¼ cups packed dark brown sugar 300 ml
- ½ cup each granulated sugar, softened butter and unsweetened apple sauce 125 ml
- 2 large egg whites
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract 15 ml
- 2 ½ cups quick or old-fashioned oats 625 ml
- ½ cup chopped nuts 125 ml
- 1 -340 g pkg NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels or Milk Chocolate Morsels 250 ml
preparation
- COMBINE flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt in small bowl. Beat brown sugar, granulated sugar, butter and applesauce in large bowl until smooth. Beat in egg whites and vanilla extract. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in oats, nuts and morsels; mix well. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto prepared baking sheets.
- PREHEAT oven to 375 °F (190 °C). Grease baking sheets
- BAKE for 9 to 10 minutes for chewy cookies or 12 to 13 minutes for crisp cookies. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
