ingredient
- Lime Cilantro Butter
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) butter, softened
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) cilantro, chopped
- 1/2 tsp (2 mL) lime rind, grated
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) lime juice
- 2 tsp (10 mL) sweet red pepper, finely-chopped
- Maple-Pecan Butter
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) butter, softened
- 1/3 cup (75 mL) maple syrup
- 1/4 cup (50 mL) toasted pecans, chopped
- Spicy Cheddar Butter
- 3/4 cup (175 mL) Canadian Cheddar cheese, finely shredded
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) butter, softened
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) pickled hot pepper rings, chopped
- Hot pepper sauce
Preparation
- Lime Cilantro Butter: Beat together butter, cilantro, lime rind, lime juice and red pepper. Add salt and pepper to taste. Let stand 1 hour to blend flavours.
- Maple-Pecan Butter: Beat together butter, maple syrup and pecans. Add salt and pepper to taste. Let stand 1 hour to blend flavours.
- Spicy Cheddar Butter: Beat together Canadian Cheddar cheese, butter and hot peppers. Add hot pepper sauce to taste. Let stand 1 hour to blend flavours.
