Oriental Meatballs
- 2 lbs (1 kg) ground pork
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup (50 mL) soy sauce
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup (50 mL) bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup (50 mL) beef broth
- 1/4 cup (50 mL) sesame seeds
- Salt and pepper
- 3 tbsp (45 mL) butter
- 3 tbsp (45 mL) vegetable oil
Spicy Sauce
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) mango sauce (chutney)
- 2 tsp (10 mL) tamarind
- Few of drops hot sauce
Oriental Meatballs
- In large bowl, mix all ingredients, except sesame seeds, butter and oil. Season with salt and pepper. Shape into small meatballs of preferred size and coat with sesame seeds.
- In skillet, sauté meatballs in butter and oil for 5 minutes over high heat. Reduce heat. Cover and continue cooking for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove meatballs from skillet and drain on paper towels. Insert a toothpick in each and serve with Spicy Sauce.
Spicy Sauce
- In bowl, mix chutney, tamarind and hot sauce. Refrigerate.
