ingredient
- 1 1/2 lb (675 g) turnip
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) olive oil
- 4 to 5 tbsp (60 mL to 75 mL) milk
- 1 cup (250 mL) Mild Canadian Cheddar, grated
- 5 tbsp (75 mL) unsalted butter
- Salt
- 1 tsp (5 mL) cracked black pepper
Preparation
- Peel and cut turnip into small cubes. Cook in boiling salted water until tender, then drain well. Puree in a food processor with the oil and the milk until smooth.
- Transfer to a clean pan and heat through. Beat in the Canadian Cheddar and 2 tbsp (30 mL) butter. Season with salt to taste. Transfer to a warm serving dish.
- Melt remaining butter with cracked black pepper. Pour it over the puree and serve right away.
