Swiss Cabbage Slaw

ingredient

  • 3 cups (750 mL) coarsely shredded green cabbage
  • 1 cup (250 mL) coarsely shredded red cabbage
  • 1 cup (250 mL) sliced celery
  • 1/2 pkg (200 g) sliced Canadian Swiss* cheese
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) each chopped green onions and parsley
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) mayonnaise or salad dressing
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) sour cream
  • Salt and pepper

Preparation

  1. In large salad bowl, combine green and red cabbage, celery, Canadian Swiss cheese, onions and parsley. In small bowl, stir together mayonnaise and sour cream. Pour dressing over cabbage mixture and toss well to coat. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Chill 1 hour to blend flavours.

Servings: 6
Tips: To "shred" cabbage, quarter and core one head and cut crosswise with sharp knife into thin strips.
