Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts (or breasts and thighs combined)
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) butter, melted
  • 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) paprika
  • 1 tsp. (5 mL) onion powder
  • 1 tsp. (5 mL) garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. (2 mL) dry mustard
  • 1 tsp. (5 mL) dry thyme
  • 1 tsp. (5 mL) dry basil
  • 1 tsp. (5 mL) dry oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. (2 mL) Cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. (2 mL) ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. (2 mL) salt
  • Sufficient quantity of vegetable oil*

Preparation

  1. Brush the pieces of chicken with melted butter. Set aside. In a shallow dish, mix the spices and aromatic herbs. Coat the pieces of chicken well with the mixture of spices.
  2. Before putting the chicken on the grill, sprinkle each piece with a few drops of vegetable oil. Cook 12 to 15 minutes, turning from time to time until chicken is blackened and crusty and the meat loses its pink colour.
