Ingredients
- 3 tbsp (45 mL) butter
- 1/4 cup (50 mL) chopped onion
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) flour
- 1 tsp (5 mL) Italian seasoning
- 1 3/4 cups (425 mL) milk
- 2 cups (500 mL) shredded Canadian Mozzarella* cheese
- 1/4 cup (50 mL) grated Canadian Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup (250 mL) slivered cooked ham
- 1 cup (250 mL) frozen peas, thawed
- Salt and pepper
- 8 oz (250 g) linguine
Preparation
- In medium saucepan, melt butter. Sauté onion and garlic until tender. Blend in flour and Italian seasoning. Gradually stir in milk. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture boils and thickens.
- Remove from heat. Add Canadian Mozzarella and Canadian Parmesan cheeses and stir until cheeses are melted. Stir in ham and peas. Add salt and pepper to taste; keep warm.
- In large saucepan, cook linguine according to package directions; drain. Pour sauce over linguini. Toss well to coat and serve.

Tips: Use plenty of water to cook pasta (at least 1 qt/1 L for every 4 oz/125 g) so that the pasta moves freely and cooks evenly.
