Ingredients
- 1 pouche of soup mix Lipton Onion Recipe
- 1 ½ cups (375 ml) of water
- ¼ cup (50 ml) of soya sauce
- 2 c. tablespoons (30 ml) of dark brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 c. tablespoon (15 ml) of grated fresh ginger (or 1 tsp. / 5 ml of ground ginger)
- 3-3 ½ lb (1.5 to 1.75 kg) of boneless stewing piece (sirloin, round or paddle)
- 4 large sweet potatoes, peeled if desired and cut into chunks
- 3 c. tablespoons (45 ml) of water
- 2 c. tablespoons (30 ml) of all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Add potatoes and roast into a crockpot. Combine the soup mix, water, soy sauce, sugar and ginger. Pour over roast. Cook covered on low heat for 8 to 10 hours or on high for 4 to 6 hours, or until roast is tender.
- Remove roast and potatoes to a serving platter. Blend remaining water with flour and stir into meat juices in the crockpot. Cook covered on high heat for 15 minutes or until thickened. Serve roast with gravy.
